With 'Days Without Hope', the Monolith concept finally comes to a close : the instrumental opener 'Cruel' is the final track part of the original Monolith concept.

The next 3 tracks are from Symphony I and Symphony II, but have been completely rerecorded. Most of the tracks on those two releases actually had many different versions, sometimes up to 6 or 7 for tracks like 'They Never Hope' and 'This Dark Day', but i had never tried giving those tracks the sound typical for the two Monolith albums. It turned out very well and this is the closest thing i will probably ever get to a re-release of the first two UDOM albums.

'Departure' was originally written several years ago to be part of a short vinyl split, which never made it. It's an unusually short track for UDOM, but it does show the new sound i was experimenting with at the time. With 'Departure', this album provides a preview of things to come.

'Days Without Hope' closes with the main theme from 'This Dark Day' and this is not the last time you will hear this particular track...
