The mixing of 'Days Without Hope' is almost done, i've uploaded 2 of the 6 tracks of this album as preview : Departure and This Dark Day (reprise).
'Infra Sub Ultra' is another release nearing completion : it is a 3-way split featuring tracks by 'The Sad Sun', 'Cold Aeon' and 'The Ethereal'. To be released on NULLL within the next few months.

IDNM will appear on a split CD later this year with 4 new tracks. More info on the release will be added to the site closer to the split's release date. Check the NULLL forums for a preview of the new tracks.
Deadbooks.com is online, a SF-horror series by Hasso Wuerslin, offering several free episodes, music by In The Mist was used in the fifth chapter.

I did a slight forum overhaul, including adding a section to replace the now-gone guestbook. The forum will have various topics on the progress of my projects, with samples and previews. These will be updated more regularly than the website as it's easier and faster to do and i can't really update my site for every small bit of progress on a project. So check out the forum for last-minute updates at the NULLL forums.
'Prelude To Monolith' is now sold out. I currently have no plans to re-release this album, but will make the MP3s of all tracks available in the near future.

Two weeks off from work makes a difference, i've been able to spend quite some time on my 'Tykarr-Aqui'ix nebula' scifi novel. Chapters 1 through 10 are now online, check the 'words' section for download links to .pdf and .rtf files.


November 2007

Long time no update. There has been some stuff going on in the background, but overall progress is going very slow. My job has been taking up most of my time lately and situation will probably last for another month or two. If it lasts longer than that and the job still interferes with my AV projects, i'll take measures to make sure i can spend sufficient amounts of time again on what really matters.
Currently in progress :
The sci-fi novel 'Tykarr-Aqui'ix nebula', currently still at 9 chapters but i have lots of ideas worked out for a lot more chapters and some vague ideas for follow-up episodes to this book. I'm also working on several short stories, also sci-fi, most of them are just rough drafts, but one so far is progressing nicely. I'll probably have that one finished way before 'Tykarr...'.
3D stuff in general : the trailer for '4th Moon of Xyth' is on hold and as it stands now, i doubt i'll ever continue working on it. The project would take 5 years assuming i can spend several hours a day on it, which is not happening at the moment. I'll still do 3D design and sci-fi scenes, but mostly for other projects such as covers for the sci-fi stories and CD booklets. The entire series of '4th Moon of Xyth' for which i had several episodes worth of material already written out might end up becoming a (series of) book(s) instead. Making a complete 3D animated series of all the material i have would take several lifetimes worth of work.
Music : still several albums in various stages of completion of which i can not offer any release dates at all at the moment. I have been working on recording a new (not 100% new) UDOM album since mid summer and so far only managed to find time to record the keyboards and orchestral parts. Got myself a new guitar effects unit (Boss GT-pro), which i'll probably end up using once i've spent enough time with it and figured out how to create a new guitar sound with it for UDOM. Release date would be around mid 2008, but it's probably to soon yet to know for sure.
Misc : did some interviews lately which i'll add to the site hopefully soon. A number of Wijlen Wij reviews are available as well, most of them surprisingly positive.
Also, i had some A4-sized prints made with images from 'Desolate' and 'Death Time Emptiness' a while ago. It took a bit to find suitable (and especially strong) packaging for these, but they should be available soon.

The 'Words' section has a new entry : the first three chapters for a '4th Moon of Xyth' related science-fiction novel is online, also available in .pdf format. Related images have been added as well.
The '4th Moon' site has been updated as well as the '3D & CG art' section of this site with images and information on the 'Akata class cruiser' 3D model.
I'm currently working on two new albums that will be released as part of the 'Interludium' series. Both should be available by the end of May. 'Interludium IV - Leviation' contains two ambient tracks by Organium. 'Interludium V - Buried in the Void' is the follow-up to Dreams Of Dying Star's last album 'Funeral in the Void', it features one long ambient soundscape. As soon as mastering is done, MP3 extracts will be made available online.

The work for a trailer for '4th Moon Of Xyth' is on hold, but instead there will be a short teaser released instead : it can be downloaded from 4thmoon.nulll-void.com/downloads. The trailer and possibly another teaser are being worked on...
Marche Funebre Productions told me that 'Desolate' is currently being pressed - it shouldn't take much longer before the CD is available.

Sorry for the lack of updates etc, but everything is on hold right now due to my temporary full-time job. The trailer for my sci-fi animation '4th Moon Of Xyth' is still highest priority tho i have several albums that are almost completed. The re-release of 'Desolate' should still happen later this year or early next year.

Late last year, UDOM signed a one-album deal with ' Flood The Earth Records, for the release of 'Symphony III - Monolith. The album should be available in march or april, i have uploaded several extracts of the 4 tracks to soundclick.

I have put 4 extracts from the upcoming 'Symphony III - monolith' album online at soundclick.
More info on a release date and on which label it might be available will be posted soon.
Also recently finished, is 'Forbidden Fields' new album 'Field II - Of Trees...'. Two MP3 extracts of this 73-minute album can be found at soundclick as well. The album itself should be released on NULLL within the next few weeks.
Finally one more MP3, this one is a 'The Ethereal' track that was supposed to appear on an extreme doom compilation but sadly it won't be released. This track 'Carving The Angel' should give an idea of the new style of 'The Ethereal'.

Been a while since the last update. School has finally finished so i should have more time for my music and visuals. I have a number of releases which should be available later this year and it looks like the re-release of 'From Funeral Skies' is finally happening.
Recently i finished the mixing and mastering of UDOM's next album 'Symphony III - monolith'. MP3 samples should be available soon.
Both the 'live' page with several live images and the 'press' page have been added to the site again. They never made it to the site after the last big update as i was too busy with other stuff.


February 2005

Updated site, removed some small errors as a result of the move last month and added some examples of logos, banners and websites i recently made, to the 'Visuals' secion.
Symphony III update : Recording of the orchestral parts is finished. The tracklist of this album is final : 1. - Funeral Dance, 2. - Monolith, 3. - Soon Will Be Gone, a short piece, which is an ambient cover of 'Also Sprach Zarathustra' by Strauss will be used as intro. Total playing time is about 75 to 80 minutes. MP3 extracts coming as soon as i recorded the guitars, bass and vocals.

The site has moved to a new host and received a new URL, the previous 'udom.darkwood.com' may still work, but should no longer be used as it will dissapear in the near future. The new URL to this site is svc.nulll-void.com, part of the nulll-void.com domain where you can also find my label, NULLL Records and the EverDarkGreen zine as well as a seperate site for the online version of the '4th Moon Of Xyth' series.
All sites hosted by darkwood.com have been hacked recently, so if you noticed weird messages on this and the NULLL sites, it's because the hackers replaced all my index.htm files with their crap. Most of it is fixed now.

  • The 2-album record deal between 'The Ethereal' and 'Totentroll' is cancelled, that means no re-release of the 'From Funeral Skies' album for now, i haven't decided yet how/when/if i will try to re-release this album and whether it will be on NULLL or not incase i do decide to have it released. Rage Of Achilles and its sublabels will stop releasing albums from this fall onwards, hence the deal with The Ethereal was cancelled.

I added a new page to the site, with reviews about UDOM-material. The first 2 reviews are taken from Doom-metal.com.
I updated the Biography-page and links to Deinonychus, Hierophant, Mindview magazine and Infest magazine have been added to the Links-page.
There was some trouble with this site exceding its data-transfer limit, so i relocated the samples. If the problem still occurs, or the links to the samples aren't working, just send me an email and i'll see what i can do about it.

The lyrics page has been updated with the lyrics of the songs on 'Absence Of Life'.
Uploaded new samples of the four songs on 'Absence Of Life'. The Album should be released very soon, probably next week. Finally, the new version of the site is finished, I added pages to my other projects and my home studio. Samples-page updated with extracts of the 4 songs that will appear on our second symphony 'Absence Of Life'.

It has been a while since i've updated this page, because we're in the midst of the recording-process : 3 songs are almost finished...one more to go.
Added 2 new samples to our site : Winter Within (a Cover of Vivaldi's Winter, 3rd movement) and an extract of They Never Hope.
News about the recording-process : it's going to take us much longer than expected. The tracklist has changed too : This Dark Day, In The Mist, Absence Of Life, And Death Took Her Smile Away, the working title of the demo is Absence Of Life. Links to Hlidolf and Mortiis have been added.
Added a Samples-page to the site and the Discography-page has been updated with the very first (and very amateurish) recordings on CD.
Site updated : guestbook is now completely functional and a link to Ancient Rites has been added!
